Real estate is about more than houses. It’s about the communities we call home. Living and working in Babylon has given me the chance to discover so many great local spots that make this area truly special. Here are a few of my personal favorites right here in the Village and around the South Shore.

🍽️ Best Places to Eat

If you know me, you know I love great food and great atmospheres. Babylon Village has so many local gems, and new ones keep popping up.

Some of my favorite newer additions are Talina’s, La Bottega, and The James, each offering something unique, whether it’s modern Italian, casual dining, or upscale cocktails with a lively vibe. For a true Babylon night out, The Brixton on Deer Park Avenue is always a hit with creative small plates, craft cocktails, and a relaxed but trendy atmosphere that’s perfect for dinner or brunch.

For something more casual, The Greek Garden and The Pizzeria are always reliable go-tos. When I’m craving sushi, Fancy Lee never disappoints, and for quick, fresh salads or sandwiches, I stop by Roast or The Green Fork.

Coffee lovers will appreciate Babylon Bean and Jack Jack’s, while tea drinkers will love BesTea, not only for their incredible tea menu but also for their fun “dirty sodas,” which are becoming a new favorite trend. These cozy spots are perfect for a morning latte or an afternoon pick-me-up.

For açaí bowls and protein shakes, SoBol, Bowl Shake & Juice, and Blends all hit the spot. When it comes to desserts and sweets, you can’t go wrong with Mario’s, Tortafina, Cold Stone, or Kilwins, and I can’t wait for Insomnia Cookies to open soon.

A few newer favorites worth checking out include Social X, which has a cool, modern vibe, and Millie’s Mimosas, a must for brunch lovers. For wine enthusiasts, Barrique Kitchen & Wine Bar and Molto Vino are two cozy local staples that are perfect for date night or happy hour.

And of course, no list would be complete without Babylon’s classic neighborhood bars such as Lily Flanagan’s, The Village Bar, The Local, and Post Office Café, all great for catching up with friends. In the summer, Tres Palms is a must for its waterfront views and the best coconut martinis.

And for breakfast, Glen’s Dinette is a Babylon staple that has been serving locals for decades. It’s a true small-town classic that never goes out of style.

Local Shopping & Small Businesses

Supporting small businesses is something I’m passionate about. Babylon Village is full of charming shops and boutiques that make strolling downtown so enjoyable.

Pandemonium and Evelyn & Co. on Deer Park Avenue are two of my favorites for fashion finds, while Bubble,  Bubble East, Hitch, and The Mercantile are perfect for unique gifts and home décor.

For book lovers, The Neverending Story on Main Street is a must-visit. It’s the kind of independent bookstore that makes you want to stay awhile and explore every shelf.

Health, Beauty & Wellness

For years, my go-to salon has been Hairstories. I’ve trusted them for color, cuts, and weekly blowouts, and everyone there is amazing and friendly. There are plenty of other great beauty options in town too, including Salon Hue, Giraselle, and Simply Polished Nail Salon, as well as several med spas for when you’re in the mood for a little self-care.

If fitness and wellness are part of your routine, Equity Reformer Studio on West Main Street is one of the best new additions in town. They offer reformer Pilates, stretch labs, and wellness recovery options like infrared sauna sessions, all with a modern, boutique feel that fits perfectly into the Babylon lifestyle.

Arts & Culture

One of the things that makes Babylon so special is its sense of community and thriving arts scene. The Argyle Theatre on West Main Street brings Broadway-quality productions and concerts right to the heart of the village. Whether it’s a date night or a family outing, catching a show there always feels special.

Outdoor Escapes

The South Shore offers some of the most beautiful outdoor spaces on Long Island. I love taking walks through Argyle Park, relaxing by the docks in Babylon, or spending time at our beautiful local beaches like Overlook, Cedar, or Gilgo with my family. Whether it’s a peaceful morning stroll or a summer beach day, Babylon’s outdoor spaces are one of the things that make living here so special.
