When it comes to selling your home, professional photos can make all the difference. Most buyers form an opinion before they ever step inside, so creating that ‘wow’ factor online is key. Here’s my personal checklist to help you get your home photo-ready and make those first impressions count.
1. Declutter and Depersonalize
Less is more when it comes to real estate photography. Clear countertops, pack away personal photos, and remove excess furniture to open up the space. Buyers want to imagine themselves in the home, so creating a clean, neutral environment helps them do just that.
2. Light It Up
Good lighting can transform a room. Open blinds, turn on lamps, and replace any dim bulbs. Natural light photographs beautifully, so schedule your photos when sunlight is strongest usually mid-morning or early afternoon.
3. Add Simple Touches
Fresh flowers, a few neatly folded towels, or a bowl of green apples on the kitchen counter can add warmth and life to your space. These small touches photograph well and help your home feel inviting without feeling staged.
4. Don’t Forget the Outside
Curb appeal matters just as much as the inside. Sweep the walkway, mow the lawn, and tidy up outdoor furniture. A quick pressure wash or a few potted plants by the entry can completely elevate your exterior photos.
5. Work with Your Photographer
